This moving true story from France of one man's struggle to bring his daughter's killer to justice is realized by a spellbinding central performance from celebrated French actor Daniel Auteuil (My Favorite Season, Caché) as Andre Bamberski, a brokenhearted father on a desperate quest for justice.
The year is 1982 and fourteen year old Kalinka Bamberski is found dead in her mother's house in Germany. Kalinka would spend her vacation there ever since her mother had started a new life with the seductive and charismatic Doctor Dieter Krombach (Sebastian Koch, The Lives of Others). Although the strange circumstances of her demise point to Krombach, a conspiracy of silence seems to protect him. Bamberski sets out on a quest to find the truth while being thwarted by doctors, judges, and even his ex-wife, who is deep in denial.
In a battle that lasted almost three decades, with more than its fair share of twists, turns, and tragedies, Andre's story lends itself perfectly to gripping legal drama, as renowned German star Koch also delivers an outstanding performance as Andre's nemesis. With Marie-Josée Croze.
