"Equal parts laugh-riot and call to arms"
A screening of Michael Moore's documentary Sicko examines and compares approaches to health care in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Cuba, looking at the involvement of the pharmaceutical industry and the medical establishment. Often witty and ironic, Sicko is nevertheless remarkably distanced in offering a perspective on what is possible in countries and situations which put the health of their citizens first.
Directed by Michael Moore, 2007, USA, 123 min.
The Teach-In will be led by David Edelberg, M.D., co-founder of WholeHealth Chicago, practices integrative medicine, is the author of several books and writes the popular Health Tips weekly newsletter which often looks at issues of care and the medical and insurance systems
