The Chicago Latino Reel Film Club
Based on the diaries of Chantal Rouquad, Patagonia of My Dreams tells of the adventures and misadventures experienced by the first Europeans who arrived to Patagonia at the end of the 19th Century, just as Chile and Argentina were in the middle of a border dispute. Chantal, her mother and brother find themselves in the middle of the geographic, commercial and social changes affecting the region. Through perseverance and teamwork, they learn to adapt to Patagonia's hard, but breathtaking landscape.
Directed by Jorge López Sotomayor, 2013, Chile/Argentina/Germany, 100 mins.
