How it Works
Learn the Essentials
Since 1984, FACETS has offered families fun, educational, and affordable film camps focused on the power of storytelling.
There are many ways to tell a story using filmmaking techniques, from character development to cinematography, sound, and editing. Whether it’s a fun or silly story, a story based on a personal experience, or a story that makes a statement about the world today, kids and teens will gain the skills to communicate what’s important to them.
Using our over 30 years of experience in film and media education, we now offer in-person and virtual film camps with live, interactive instruction to ensure our campers are learning in a safe environment.
In-Person vs Virtual
What does it mean?
Film is best experienced together as a community, but that can mean different things.
• In-Person: In-person camps taught at FACETS, and provide exclusive, in person experiences as part of instruction.
• Virtual: With our virtual camp options, campers can safely engage with their classmates and instructors over Zoom and remotely create films beyond their wildest dreams.
Health & Safety
Creating Safe Learning Environments
Keeping our campers safe and healthy is a top priority.
FACETS follows recommended CDC & City of Chicago COVID protocols. All staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

• Critical Thinking: Students learn valuable 21st century media literacy skills to learn how to engage with media critically.
• Gain a Hobby: Camps give students the skills to continue telling their own stories for years to come and to expand their understanding of the world.
