How it Works
Learn the Essentials
Since 1984, FACETS has offered families fun, educational, and affordable film camps focused on the power of storytelling.
There are many ways to tell a story using filmmaking techniques, from character development to cinematography, sound, and editing. Whether it’s a fun or silly story, a story based on a personal experience, or a story that makes a statement about the world today, kids and teens will gain the skills to communicate what’s important to them.
Using our over 30 years of experience in film and media education, we now offer virtual, hybrid, and in-person film camps with live, interactive instruction to ensure our campers are learning in a safe environment.
Virtual vs. Hybrid vs. In-Person
What does it mean?
Film is best experienced together as a community, but in 2021, that can mean many different things.
• Virtual: With our virtual camp options, campers can safely engage with their classmates and instructors over Zoom and remotely create films beyond their wildest dreams.
• Hybrid: For those who learn better with hands on instruction in a film environment, our hybrid camps provide the option to learn in-person at FACETS (1517 W Fullerton Ave) and work with their vaccinated instructor while the course is taught virtually.
• In-Person: Additionally, in-person camps taught at FACETS, provide exclusive, in person experiences as part of instruction.
Health & Safety
Creating Safe Learning Environments
Keeping our campers safe and healthy is a top priority.
• Health Checks: Everyone who enters the building will have their temperature taken and will be required to answer a short health questionnaire.
• Masks + Distancing: All campers and staff are required to wear masks during in-person meetings. We will also maintain physical distancing through limited class sizes.
• Cleanliness: For all classes that meet in person, we will ensure that campers and staff wash their hands regularly, have access to hand sanitizer, and that all surfaces are cleaned thoroughly.
• Virtual + Hybrid Classes: Campers are able to learn in a safe, distanced environment with live, interactive instruction via Zoom. Hybrid classes may be offered to students who wish to learn in person at FACETS with the instructor and other classmates.
