Fall Field Trips at FACETS (1517 W Fullerton Ave) are available to book now and can be scheduled between August 26 – December 20, with starting times between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm from Monday-Friday each week. Space is limited, please schedule as early as possible.

About Field Trips

FACETS Field Trips are a fun and engaging way for students Pre-K-12th grade to engage with diverse perspectives and develop media literacy skills through the enriching power of cinema.

Our Field Trips take place at FACETS’ historic arthouse cinema in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood and include a best-of selection of short films from the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF), pre- and post-screening media education led by our expert instructors, and optional concession packages with pop and popcorn.

Pricing

Field Trip pricing is based on the number of people in the group, including both children and chaperones. Once your screening date is selected, an invoice for the amount due will be sent to you via email.

Film Programs

Our Field Trip film programs present a collection of the best short films from FACETS’ Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF), curated specifically for students Pre-K -12th grade, and guided by Common Core and Fine Arts curriculum standards. The films represent a variety of filmmaking styles and countries of origin, and explore important themes like social emotional learning, immigration, black voices, girl empowerment, LGBTQ+ stories, STEM, and more.

Media Education

Each Field Trip includes a discussion questions packet and pre- and post-screening media education led by FACETS’ expert instructors to deepen student engagement and provide guidance for educators.

How to Book

To book a Field Trip, review our program offerings and submit a Booking Request Form. If you have questions about the booking process or need help finding a program that’s right for your class, contact us today via email at help@facets.org or by phone at 773-281-9075.

Once the form is submitted a FACETS Customer Service Representative will contact you within 48 hrs to complete your reservation and secure payment.
