Milos’s Lifework Continues at FACETS
While the tragic passing Milos Stehlik is felt throughout the FACETS’ community, he lives on through his legacy. FACETS is determined to continue Milos vision of bringing the world to the viewer through independent and international film.
It has been both an emotional and inspiring year here at FACETS. Emotional in the overwhelming community response to the untimely death of our founder, Milos Stehlik. Inspiring in the outpouring of support for Milos’s work and for FACETS’ future as a global film institution.
“Milos Stehlik, the late Founder and Executive Director of FACETS, had an exceptional eye for content, and believed in bringing quality film to audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences. He believed in active viewing as an important exercise for our eyes, ears, and minds, and developed channels through which he could provide education and access for many who otherwise wouldn’t have received it.”

Milos’s legacy has been lauded across the globe from the Telluride Film Festival’s “Milos Stehlik Scholarship,”to the Chicago Film Critics Association recent naming of the “Milos Stehlik Breakthrough Filmmaker Award.” The accolades from the press, public, and film world keep rolling in.
Milos’s lifework is going to continue at FACETS, and the staff and board of directors are absolutely dedicated to making that happen. This work has already continued with a very successful 2019.
