Ages 9-13

Get the tools and skills you need to become a film editor in this hands-on introduction to editing techniques and software. 

Editing is one of the most critical aspects of filmmaking—it can make or break a film. But knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. In this immersive five-day camp, students will dive deep into the world of film editing, gaining the technical expertise, industry vocabulary, and creative skills needed to shape compelling stories using professional editing software. 

Whether you’re new to editing or looking to sharpen your skills, this camp provides the foundation to bring your storytelling vision to life. 

Outcomes & Benefits
  • Tools: create simple title cards, assemble clips, utilize transitions, and add credits  
  • Study: editing terms, film vocabulary, and the history of film editing   
  • Creative Storytelling: cut your film from an editor’s perspective and take director’s vision into consideration    
  • The Basics: special effects, audio editing, color editing, and exporting  
  • Tricks: keyboard shortcuts, technical specifications, and troubleshooting methods 
Tech Specs
  • A laptop computer or tablet with a preinstalled editing program is required 
  • An editing program such as Adobe Premiere, iMovie, or other free online editing app (Kapwing, OpenShot, ClipChamp). Additional details will be sent before the start of camp.  
Cancellation Policy

Deadline for cancellations for a full refund is 3 weeks prior to the start of each program. Cancelling within 3 weeks incurs a $100 cancellation fee.
