“Critic’s Pick! – The Daniels’ command of modern cinematic tropes is encyclopedic, and also eccentric.” – A.O. Scott, The New York Times
” A movie that reconciles the smallness of our lives with the infinity of their potential.” – David Ehrlich, Indiewire
Watch A24’s newest masterpiece from the directing team known as The Daniels, June 4-5 at FACETS.
The latest film from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Swiss Army Man), collectively known as Daniels, is about a middle-aged woman named Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), who runs a laundry and cannot seem to finish her taxes. She has a mild-mannered husband Waymond (Ke Huy Quan), a querulous father (James Hong), a tense relationship with her daughter (Stephanie Hsu), and looming trouble with the I.R.S., specifically, with a mean inspector (Jamie Lee Curtis). All the while, her husband wants to file for a divorce, and then the multiverse opens up. She finds herself swept up in a crazy adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led. Her existence had been about as mundane as it gets, so Evelyn is surprised to discover that she is the key to saving the multiverse from a mysterious evil power. Legendary actress, Michelle Yeoh, gives an amazing performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, a hilarious and ambitious sci-fi action adventure, that delivers exactly what the title promises.
