MY DEGENERATION
Friday, October 20, 7:00 & 10:00pm
Film Synopsis
Underground filmmaker/art terrorist Jon Moritsugu reimagines a rise-and-fall showbiz narrative as a scuzzy, 16mm skullfuck opus set in the lo-fi punk world, as an all-girl punk band called Fetish makes it big and becomes a commercial pawn of the American beef industry. Meanwhile, one of the band members carries on a clandestine love affair with a rotting pig’s head. Many movies have been made about punk rock. This movie feels like punk rock: dirty, angry, righteous, handmade, exhilarating.
The feature presentation will be preceded by a special video intro from the filmmaker recorded just for this screening, as well as Moritusugu’s 45-second short film “CRACK” (1998).
Accessibility Note: All screenings will have English open captions. Masks are required indoors when not eating or drinking.
