For over 30 years, Foundation of Film (formerly Film 101) has been FACETS’ flagship summer camp, an immersive program where kids and teens explore the art of filmmaking through hands-on activities that spark creativity, teamwork, and confidence.
Past campers have gone on to become filmmakers, festival programmers, and film archivists. In this newly expanded two-week format, campers gain even more time to create, collaborate, and develop a fully realized short film. In Foundations of Film, campers learn film vocabulary, watch great films, engage in thoughtful discussions, and participate in the full filmmaking process, from concept to world premiere.
