MY FIRST MOVIES is a perfect for first-time theater experiences (ages 2-6), these engaging short films are presented in a “no shhh-zone” where wiggles, whispers, and wonder are all part of the experience. Stay after the show for hands-on MAKE AND PLAY activities.

The May edition of MY FIRST MOVIES is presented in partnership with our friends at New York International Children’s Film Festival.  This “Little Kid Flicks” shorts program introduces young ones to delightful animated films from around the world.  Whether searching for the perfect pancake or interviewing a crocodile, these shorts are sure to enchant and delight all audiences.

Shorts program 50 minutes + 30 minute interactive activities.

MAKE AND PLAY

After the screening, families are invited into our MAKE AND PLAY stations, where little ones can bring stories to life through hands-on play—think drawing, building, and craft-making inspired by what they’ve just seen.

Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble challenges, engages and inspires audiences onstage and in the classroom through innovative, multidisciplinary storytelling in the genre of Tanztheatre, which “unites all art media to achieve an all-embracing, radical change in humankind.” 

New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF) is one of North America’s leading film festivals dedicated to children and teens ages 3 to 18. Established in 1997, it is an Academy Award-qualifying event that showcases approximately 100 independent short and feature films from around the globe annually
