EUNIC Film Festival 2025 presents Waves:
Waves is a historical thriller drama set during the Prague Spring and the subsequent Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. The story centers on Tomáš, a young man who inadvertently joins the editorial team of Czechoslovak Radio, originally intended for his younger brother Pavel. As political tensions rise, Tomáš is coerced into cooperating with the State Security (StB) to protect his brother. However, he grows close to the journalists and ultimately chooses to resist the occupiers, helping broadcast uncensored information during the invasion. The film is a tribute to the courage of radio journalists who defied censorship and risked their lives to uphold press freedom.
