Fun fact: Hideaki Anno, creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion, was so impressed by her performance in this film that he cast her as the voice of Rei Ayanami. This heartfelt and quirky story follows a group of misfits trying to rekindle the magic of Christmas—long after the season has ended.

Next, we’ll lighten the mood with a hilariously offbeat romantic comedy from 2005 about a Christmas-hating boy and an eccentric, determined “Santa-in-training” who’s here to bring the holiday cheer whether he likes it or not. Packed with zany humor and heartwarming moments, this unconventional holiday tale is pure anime chaos at its best.
