Ever wondered what it takes to make a genre-defining film like Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight? Take a behind-the-scenes tour with our panel of crew members and get their insider insights into the film’s most notable stunts, costume designs, and special effects.

Praised by critics, comic-cons, action obsessives, and mere mortals alike, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight redefined the superhero movie genre. Filmed in Chicago throughout the summer of 2007 – Nolan insisted that the film be shot almost entirely on-location and not on a studio backlot, performing live stunts, practical special effects, and with minimal use computer generated imagery.

Nolan’s Gotham is a dark, muscular megalopolis, that, unlike previous Batman franchises, is genuinely ominous and beautifully real. His childhood recollection of downtown Chicago (the family lived in the north suburbs for several years), with its garrison of bascule bridges, subterrain roadways, and narrow skyscraper canyons, fit his vision of a comic book cityscape come-to-life. The results are perhaps the most ambitious production ever filmed in Chicago.

The event is preceded by a VIP Mingle, exclusive to VIP Ticket holders, followed by the crew member panel, and concluding with a screening of the film.

PRE-EVENT VIP MINGLE

VIP ticket holders are invited to arrive early and mingle with host Rich Moskal and the panelists, and enjoy complimentary beverage and bites
