Friendship is the Fatal Attraction of male bonding comedies” – Matt Zoller Seitz, RogerEbert.com

Friendship, a new comedy written and directed by Andrew DeYoung… that is so in sync with star Tim Robinson’s distinct comedic voice that you’d be excused for assuming he made it himself. ” – Garrett Martin, Paste Magazine

Written and directed by Andrew DeYoung, Friendship follows the socially awkward Craig (Tim Robinson), a marketing executive who is married and has a very solid life but lacks a sense of community.

After meeting and falling hard for his new neighbor, Austin (Paul Rudd), a charismatic weatherman, Craig makes it his mission to become his friend, but his attempts only serve to alienate himself further from the man he yearns to emulate and be friends with after several awkward encounters.

More than anything, Robinson delivers a fantastic showcase for his particular brand of humor. Audiences get a cathartic look and cringe-inducing behavior at one overly eager man taking his enthusiasm as far as it can possibly go. Additionally, Rudd’s charisma, akin to Anchorman’s Brian Fantana, plays off Robinson perfectly, as Craig eventually goes berserk in this soon-to-be cult comedy classic. Co-starring Kate Mara and Connor O’Malley.

Directed by Andrew DeYoung, U.S.A., 2025, DCP, 100 mins.
