Join local intimacy coordinator and CEO of Intimacy Directors & Coordinators, Jessica Steinrock, who was recently profiled in The New York Times for her work on wildly popular TV shows and films like Yellowjackets, Never Have I Ever and Little Fires Everywhere, as she leads a live panel discussion about Intimacy Coordination/Direction, what it is, why it’s critical to creative work, and what’s happening right now in Chicago.
Film Synopsis: Innovative and incisive, Body Parts explores the evolution of desire and “sex” on-screen from a woman’s perspective. Demystifying the often invisible processes in creating intimacy for film and television, the documentary sheds light on the most closely-guarded secrets of an industry now at a crossroads. MEET THE PANEL
Jessica Steinrock, Ph.D., is the CEO of Intimacy Directors and Coordinators. Her recent Intimacy Coordination credits include Moxie and Never Have I Ever on Netflix, Animal Kingdom on TNT, and Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu. Originating in improv comedy, her work has expanded to encompass film, opera, improv, devising, still photography and scripted theatre.

Greg Geffrard is an educator, Intimacy professional, culture worker, actor, poet, and facilitator. He is the Resident Intimacy Consultant at Steppenwolf Theatre and Roosevelt University and Practitioner In Residence at Columbia College. He has partnered with Steppenwolf Theatre, the Chicago Poetry Center, the Old Town School of Folk Music, Young Chicago Authors, the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education and The Chicago Inclusion Project.

Aimy Tien a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist, producer, and educator. They are a proud company member of 2nd Story and the Co-Director of Operations and President of the Board of Women of the Now, a womxn-run film collective. She makes art with Free Street Theater, About Face Theatre, and other organizations.

Sarah Scanlon is an Intimacy Director and multi-disciplinary actor based in Chicago's vibrant theater scene. Her intimacy choreography has been seen at Steep Theater, Pride Films and Plays, the Apollo Theater, Redtwist Theatre, Promethean Theatre Ensemble and at Northwestern University's Department of Theatre.
