☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ – “But No Other Land, for its many images of despair, still offers a stirring vision for what could be – Israelis and Palestinians working together in the name of justice, collaborating toward a world where both are free.” – Adrian Horton, The Guardian

☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ – “No Other Land is a portrait of relentless cruelty, but it is also a portrait of the resilience of this besieged community.” – Sheila O’ Malley, rogerebert.com

A group of Palestinian and Israeli activist-filmmakers capture the gradual expulsion of the West Bank community of Masafer Yatta by the Israeli military in this urgent, focused documentary.

Home to 20 ancient Palestinian villages, Masafer Yatta becomes the site of a legal transformation into an Israeli Defense Force training zone, leading to the destruction of homes, schools, water wells, and roads. Over five years (2019–2023), by a P by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four directors, Palestinian journalist Basel Adra, a resident of Masafer Yatta, documents these demolitions and the subsequent protests by displaced residents. Despite facing movement restrictions, Adra captures the emotional toll of these actions, while Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, who is free to travel, helps amplify the nonviolent resistance. Together, they form an unlikely and hopeful partnership in their fight against a government-sanctioned mass eviction. No Other Land presents an uncompromising view of a community’s forced removal and serves as both a form of creative resistance to apartheid and a pursuit of justice and equality.

A critical favorite and multiple festival award winner, No Other Land was honored with the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2025. The film is a stark reminder that mass expulsion is not a new experience for Palestinians which was filmed in vérité style, No Other Land offers a powerful, eye-opening look at the realities of Israeli occupation. It stands as both a tribute to the resilience of those who resist and a sobering reflection on the limitations of documentary filmmaking in the face of immense power.
