“Employs stop-motion animation to provide hand-crafted appeal to the clever and surprisingly scary story…” – NY Post
Celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Laika Studios’ spooky stop-motion masterpiece.
ParaNorman follows Norman Babcock (Kodi Smit-McPhee) an 11-year-old boy who never asked to see the ghosts of dead people in his daily life, but his strange inherited talent is now the only thing standing between the cursed town of Blithe Hollow and an all-out zombie apocalypse.
Released in 2012 to critical acclaim, Paranorman helped set a new standard for thoughtful, socially conscious children’s film that speak to both children and adults alike. It was also the first stop-motion production to use 3D printing technology to create characters’ faces, and features the first openly gay character in a mainstream animated film.
ParaNorman is part of our special October film series, CICFF Presents: Family Fright Matinees and is screening as a double feature with Coraline. View full series.
