From writer/director Julio Torres (Saturday Night Live) comes a surreal adventure through the equally treacherous worlds of New York City and the U.S. Immigration system.  

Julio Torres stars as Alejandro, an aspiring toy designer from El Salvador who dreams of bringing his ideas to New York City. But as Alejandro’s work visa runs out and he faces deportation, a job assisting an erratic art-world outcast (a fabulous Tilda Swinton) might be his only hope to stay in the country.  

Problemista takes quite a spin on the American Dream and the difficulties of being an immigrant. In this remarkable feature debut film, Torres transforms his personal experience of trying to get a visa into an absurdly strange journey of creativity and ambition. This film also stars RZA, of Wu-Tang Clan fame, and Greta Lee (Past Lives), and is narrated by Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet).
