In Ringu, television journalist Reiko investigates an urban legend surrounding a cursed VHS tape that claims the lives of its viewers exactly seven days after they watch it. As the chilling mystery draws perilously close to her own life, Reiko teams up with her ex-husband—now an exorcist, Takashi—to break the curse and hopefully survive a terrifying encounter with the ghostly Sadako.
