The Africologist is a young 3D character impersonating the subconscious curiosity we all have lingering inside of us, the need to understand who we are, where we come from and where we are going.
Together with the Africologist, we travel along a chronological timeline starting with the birth of the universe, the origins of life and humanity’s first steps, here in Africa followed by Africa’s Golden Age, from Kemet to Great Zimbabwe and other great civilizations. Then comes slavery and colonialism followed by the return to independence. Finally, we take a look at our place in humanity’s twenty-first century and the possible future that we are shaping.
Along the journey, Africa’s major contributions to science and humanity serve as a guiding thread to connect the stories.
Complementary dessert reception included with double feature ticket.
Screening in English and Swahili with English subtitles.
