“…in its own singular, deeply strange way, Fire Walk with Me is David Lynch’s masterpiece.” – Village Voice

In this surreal and devastating account of Laura Palmer’s final days, the Laura everyone knows disappears long before she dies.

The series of Twin Peaks (1990-1991) inspired one of television’s most asked questions: Who killed Laura Palmer? Creators David Lynch and Mark Frost differed in their plans for the mystery. Frost felt a responsibility to the viewer to reveal the killer’s identity, but that was of no interest to Lynch. After mounting pressure from the audience and the network, Laura’s killer was revealed, but Laura remained a mysterious figure, the stuff of legend, glimpsed only occasionally in photographs and grainy home movies.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is a prequel to the series in which many of the cast reprise their roles, but this time Laura is the center of the story. Sheryl Lee’s performance is extraordinary, revealing hidden depths of Laura, her fall from innocence, her reckless abandon, and her fading hope for the future.

David Lynch, United States/France, 1992, 134 minutes, DCP
