Our next Vital Conversations panel takes on the question: How are people creatively using media to engage, activate, and organize, and whose voices are we still leaving out?
Media, The Great Equalizer? is a conversation focused on how activists are using media to communicate their message, engage audiences, and motivate them to action. Featuring a panel of media and youth organizations, our panel will ask open questions that create space for youth and adult filmmakers to not only engage with mediamaking but supporting the need for intergenerational collaboration in social justice movements.
The conversation will highlight media literacy and political engagement through a multigenerational lens. Confirmed panelists include Stephanie Skora from Girl Voter, Alex Herrera from Free Spirit Media, and Margaret Caples from Chicago Film Workshop. Maxwell Evans of Block Club Chicago will moderate.
The panel will be followed by an audience Q&A, with the total runtime of the event being around 90 minutes. Thank you to our Vital Conversations Series Sponsor Tracy Kupferberg.
