After falling in love with a mysterious man who can transform into a wolf, college student Hana builds a quiet life with him and their two children, Ame and Yuki. But when tragedy strikes, Hana is left to raise her half-human, half-wolf children alone. Seeking a place where they can grow without fear or judgment, she moves her family to a rundown home in the countryside, where Ame and Yuki must eventually decide what kind of lives they want to lead.
Few animated films capture the joys, challenges, and sacrifices of parenthood as powerfully as Wolf Children. With breathtaking animation, unforgettable characters, and an emotional depth that only deepens with age, Hosoda transforms a fantastical premise into a profoundly human story about family, identity, and finding one’s place in the world.
Tender, heartbreaking, and ultimately life-affirming, Wolf Children stands as one of the defining animated films of the 21st century and a perfect companion to Summer Wars in our celebration of one of anime’s most visionary filmmakers.
Film poster will be raffled off after the screening. Attendees can enter by purchasing a concession for $6 or more.
