“Street Trash reduces everyone to the level of a trash receptacle good only for spewing bodily fluids for a few outré laughs, suggesting that this might be the only form of democracy our society can be reasonably expected to legitimately achieve.” – Slate Magazine
You’ll never see another film like Street Trash!
Several years after writing and producing Street Trash (1987), Roy Frumkes said, “I wrote it to democratically offend every group on the planet.” Rest assured this twisted tale of unhoused vagabonds suffering explosive meltdowns following consumption of tainted booze accomplishes that goal with flowing colors. The body horror is augmented by the tension between the comedy and depravity of its unfiltered vision, and the film laughs with its unfortunate vagrants rather than at them.
